KUCHING: Three Indonesians were arrested for being involved in an illegal online gambling activity in a shophouse at BK Square, Jalan Batu Kawa last Saturday night (Nov 7).
Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the raid was carried out around 9pm by a Padawan CID team.
The team arrested three individuals, aged 20 to 27, who were staying in a rented first floor of the premises.
“The syndicate was believed to have been operating for at least a year at the location. It made more than RM3,000 per day and each worker was given a salary of RM1,000 to RM1,500 per month.
“The raid team also seized smart phones, a paper with a list sale dated Nov 7, a book containing users’ details and RM547 cash,” he stated.
Aidil added that the trio along with the seized items were brought to the police station for further actions.
The case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming House Act 1953.
