In a light-hearted conversation following the recent DUN sitting, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman shared insights into his constituency’s personality and the songs that define his mood.
Warm, candid, and laced with humour, his exchange with Sarawak Tribune revealed a more personal and entertaining side of the Tupong assemblyman, one who is seen in the seriousness of legislative debates, but very much welcomed by those who enjoy glimpses of the person behind the public role.
If your constituency were a character in a movie, what personality would it have?
I would say Mr Fantastic from Fantastic Four. Like my constituents, he is very elastic; he can shift from extremely logical to emotional. And when I say emotional, I mean logically emotional. When something goes wrong in the constituency, of course, people feel unhappy, and I think that is perfectly normal. It shows they care.
What song best represents you?
Since we just had the ANDMESH concert, I would choose the song “Cinta Luar Biasa”. People often understand love from only one angle, but I feel I can bring that love to an extraordinary level, especially during the DUN session.
Now that the DUN sitting is over, what song describes how you feel?
There’s a song featured in The Martian: Tom Jones’s “It’s Not Unusual.” It’s cheerful, lively, and I think it perfectly reflects the post-DUN mood.
What’s your favourite football team?
Apart from Kuching City Football Club, of course, it’s Manchester United. I’ve been a fan since my school days. Back then, the only teams we could watch on television were Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United. Naturally, I became a United fan, even before the Eric Cantona era.
