KUCHING: Local fitness centre Turbo Fitness has extended its community outreach efforts by contributing essential items worth RM6,000 to Hope Place Kuching.

The contribution was presented recently by Turbo Fitness owner, Melvin Lee, who continues supporting the welfare organisation’s mission of assisting underserved families across Kuching.

Hope Place founder, Kelvin Wan, said the organisation greatly values support from compassionate local entrepreneurs who consistently contribute towards improving community welfare.

“Hope Place truly appreciates young local entrepreneurs like Lee, who has the heart to give back to the local community,” he said in a press statement today (June 25).

Wan said such contributions help the organisation sustain assistance programmes for vulnerable families while addressing their daily necessities and urgent welfare requirements.

Among the items donated were dry noodles, malt beverages, women’s sanitary products and specialised milk supplements identified as priority needs by Hope Place.

Lee, who regularly follows Hope Place’s social media updates, purchased the requested items to ensure the contribution directly addressed current shortages.

His latest donation reflects an ongoing commitment to charitable initiatives and demonstrates how local businesses can play meaningful roles in community development.

Turbo Fitness operates fitness centres at Gala City and Arang Road, offering modern facilities, advanced equipment, and personalised training programmes for members.

The gym features a spacious workout environment equipped with a comprehensive selection of fitness machines and free weights to support various training goals.

Wan said Hope Place is currently assisting approximately 340 families in Kuching and surrounding areas through various welfare and community support programmes.

He added that public support remains crucial in enabling the organisation to continue delivering aid to disadvantaged individuals and families requiring assistance.

Members of the public seeking further information may contact the organisation directly, while all donations received are acknowledged with official receipts upon request.
