MIRI: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar arrived safely at Miri Airport today (June 16) to attend the state-level Ma’al Hijrah 1448H/2026M celebration.
He was accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
Also accompanying the delegation were Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Regional Development Agency Coordination, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
Upon arrival, Wan Junaidi and his entourage were welcomed by Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Datuk Rosey Yunus, and Miri Resident Galong Luang.
A prayer recital led by Miri Division Imam Ustaz Sharafuddin Suaut was held shortly after their arrival.
Wan Junaidi and Fauziah are on an official visit to Miri to attend the End-of-Year 1447H and Beginning-of-Year 1448H Prayer Ceremony, which is scheduled to take place this evening at Masjid At-Taqwa Miri.
He is also scheduled to attend the Ma’al Hijrah 1448H/2026M Celebration Assembly at the Miri Indoor Stadium tomorrow (June 17).
