KUCHING: A woman in her 40s was piggybacked down Bukit Selabat after she lost consciousness while hiking this morning (May 8).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a call at 6:10 am and dispatched teams from Tabuan Jaya and Petra Jaya stations to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the victim unconscious while hiking with seven other female companions.
“Due to the steep terrain, rescuers carried her down using a piggyback technique before transferring her onto a stretcher at the foothill,” said a Bomba spokesperson.
She was then brought to the registration area and handed over to the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team for further treatment.
The operations were brought under control at 9:00 am and concluded at about 9:20 am.
