LUNDU: The upgrading project for the Kampung Biawak gravity water piping system, implemented under the allocation of the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA), has been fully completed.
The handover ceremony for the completed project was witnessed by Opar state assemblyman, Billy Sujang, recently.
In his speech, Billy expressed hope that the facility provided would be well maintained and fully utilised by the villagers to improve their quality of life.
He emphasised the government’s continuous commitment to ensuring that basic facilities, particularly clean water supply, remain a priority for the well-being of rural communities.
The symbolic handover was marked by the opening of the gravity water tap by Billy, signifying that the upgraded water supply system is now fully operational and ready for use by the Kampung Biawak community.
The project commenced on June 16 this year and was successfully completed on schedule on December 15 with a cost ceiling of RM700,000.
Implementation of the project involved upgrading the existing gravity water piping system to ensure a more stable, safe and sufficient water supply with ED Builders Enterprise appointed as the main contractor.
