MIRI: Enforcement officers in the city have seized a vehicle carrying 300 litres of suspected diverted diesel, in a crackdown on the misuse of subsidised fuel, officials said.
The operation, led by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), targeted a privately owned vehicle flagged during refuelling.

Officers discovered a canvas tank and several plastic drums inside the vehicle, believed to have been modified for the storage and transfer of controlled fuel.
Authorities said the diesel seized was valued at about RM645, while the total value of items confiscated, including the vehicle and equipment, is estimated at nearly RM27,000.
The vehicle has been impounded and an investigation has been opened under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
Under the law, individuals convicted of offences involving controlled goods face fines of up to RM1 million, jail terms of up to three years, or both. Repeat offenders may face stiffer penalties, including fines of up to RM3 million and imprisonment of up to five years. Companies can be fined up to RM2 million, rising to RM5 million for subsequent offences.
KPDN said it would intensify monitoring at petrol stations, warning that transferring fuel into containers exceeding 20 litres without a permit is an offence.
