SEMATAN: The Sarawak government continues to strengthen basic infrastructure in the Sematan Zone with an allocation of RM300,000 for a gravity-fed pipe project aimed at improving water supply for residents in several nearby villages.
Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said the project will connect Sebat Dayak to Kampung Pueh, Kampung Pueh Kenek and Siru Dayak, benefiting residents who require a more stable water supply system.
“The implementation of this project reflects the Sarawak government’s continued commitment to ensuring that development in the Sematan Zone is carried out comprehensively based on the real needs of the people,” he said when officiating the ‘Majlis Makan Bakomok’ held here recently.
He added that the village-to-village road project in Kampung Pueh Kenek has been fully completed, improving connectivity and mobility for residents.
On telecommunications, Azizul urged residents to submit official complaints to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) so that follow-up action can be taken to improve network coverage in the area.
He said internet access has become an essential need, supporting education, daily affairs, government service delivery and rural digital economy development.
At the same event, he also presented contributions to 10 asnaf recipients from Kampung Pueh, Kampung Pueh Kenek, Siru Dayak and Sebat Dayak as part of ongoing efforts to assist those in need.
