KUCHING: A vintage Volkswagen car was destroyed by fire in Satok this morning (June 27), prompting firefighters to respond to the incident.
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received a call about a car on fire at a parking area under a flyover in Satok at 9.45 am.
A team from Padungan fire station was dispatched to the location four kilometres away and arrived at 9.56 am.
“Upon arrival, the car was engulfed in flame, and firefighters moved to extinguish the fire with foam solution until the fire is under control.
“The fire was successful extinguished, and firefighters conducted an overhaul work around the scene,” it said.
The car was completely destroyed by the fire. The operation ended at 10.11 am.
