MIRI: Homeowners and business proprietors have been urged to bolster security measures on their properties to curb potential criminal activities.
Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said this at the district police headquarters (IPD) monthly assembly today.
He stressed the importance of community cooperation in safeguarding residences and business premises.
“I urge the community in this district to be vigilant in safeguarding their properties to avoid falling prey to criminal elements.
“They should install security enhancements such as CCTV cameras, door and window grills, outdoor lighting, and the removal of bushes surrounding their house.
“This is important to fortify homes and businesses against potential threats,” he said.
Furthermore, Alexson urged community members to actively collaborate with the police by promptly reporting any criminal activities in their respective areas.
In addition to community engagement, the local police chief called upon all personnel within Miri IPD to always be aware of what is happening under their respective administrations.
“This would help to beef up efforts in crime prevention by increasing patrols in areas prone to criminal activities,” he said.
During the assembly, Alexson officiated at the promotion of four rank-and-file personnel and presented certificates of appreciation to 27 police personnel for their exemplary dedication and hard work.
