PORT DICKSON: Prime Minister’s wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today spent time visiting an elderly couple facing health problems and financial hardship in Kampung Janging, Chuah, here.

Accompanied by Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Chuah State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Datuk Yew Boon Lye, she spent about 20 minutes visiting the residence of Zaiton Hasan, 60, and Paimin Sapari, 71, to inquire about their well-being and listen directly to the problems faced by the couple.

Zaiton and her husband, who suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes respectively, said when met afterward that they were deeply touched and grateful for Wan Azizah’s willingness to visit them.

“This is the first time a major leader has come to my house and I feel like it’s a dream. Alhamdulillah, they (Wan Azizah and Yew) seemed very kind and caring,” Zaiton told Bernama.

During the visit, Paimin also received the donation of a wheelchair from the Port Dickson People’s Spirit Welfare Association to ease his mobility.

In the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election, Yew, who is in a straight fight, is contested by Pau Jeou Ching from Barisan Nasional (BN).

The Election Commission (EC) has set early voting for the Negeri Sembilan State Election on July 28, while polling day will be on August 1.
