SRI AMAN: The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) here is searching for a local man in connection with a case of extortion and impersonation.
The suspect, is identified as Juli Mangkok, 31, and his last address is Rumah Sawai Jungkong Pandak, Bukit Balau in Lingga.
Sri Aman police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the suspect faces charges under Sections 384 and 170 of the Penal Code for extortion and impersonating a civil servant.
“However, the suspect failed to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on Aug 22.
“An arrest warrant has since been issued by the magistrate, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him,” he said.
Mathew also urged the public with information on the suspect’s whereabouts, to contact the Sri Aman police station at 083-322121 or the nearest police station.
