KUCHING: The Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) and the Bintulu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIB) have formalised a RM9.825 million dividend repayment agreement to be disbursed in stages over 10 years.
Under the agreement, the funds to be received by LAKIB are expected to strengthen the organisation’s financial position while ensuring that welfare programmes and social responsibility initiatives for the community can continue on a sustainable basis.
The ceremony was witnessed by Premier and LAKMNS chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg here on Friday (June 12).
A symbolic mock cheque presentation was carried out by LAKMNS honorary secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain to LAKIB chairman Iskandar Turkee.
Also present were Deputy Premier and LAKMNS deputy chairman Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and LAKIB deputy chairman Datuk Haidar Khan Asghar Khan.
