SIBURAN: A woman sustained injuries in a collision with a cement lorry on the Pan Borneo Highway near Taman Bandar Baru Siburan today.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) received an emergency call regarding an accident on the highway at 11:40 am.
Firefighters from Siburan fire station were dispatched to the scene, located six kilometres away on Jalan Kuching-Serian.
“The rescue team arrived at the accident scene at 11:47 am and found that a pickup truck and a cement lorry were indeed involved in a collision.
“Report stated that a 44-year-old female victim was trapped inside the pickup truck on the front passenger seat.
“The team had to use hydraulic rescue tools to extricate her from the damaged pickup truck and was then sent to a nearby medical facility for treatment,” it said.
The victim sustained injuries on the face and the left arm. No casualties were reported.

The operations ended at 12:27 pm, and the rescue team returned to their station.
