BAU: Construction of the RM200,000 Tembawang Sauh Agricultural Road project has begun, marking another step in the Sarawak Government’s efforts to strengthen rural infrastructure and improve access to agricultural land.

Funded under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA), the project officially moved forward following the site handover witnessed by Opar assemblyman, Billy Sujang, on Thursday (July 9).

The project comprises the construction of a 220-metre gravel road measuring three metres wide, along with a 100-metre concrete road to improve accessibility for villagers, particularly farmers travelling to and from their agricultural land.

Work commenced on June 23 and is expected to be completed by December 22 this year.

The upgraded road is expected to facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce, improve mobility for residents, and support local economic activities.

The project reflects the Sarawak Government’s continued commitment to enhancing rural infrastructure, particularly agricultural road networks that play a vital role in improving the livelihoods of communities in the state’s interior.
