MIRI: A 21-year-old man was found dead in an apparent suicide at Padang Majlis Daerah Subis, Sepupok, this afternoon.
Police alerted the Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Station at 4:15 pm, requesting assistance to bring down the victim.
A fire crew was dispatched immediately and arrived on site nine minutes later.
Firefighters conducted an assessment and waited for police clearance before lowering the victim down.
He was placed on a stretcher and assessed by the Ministry of Health’s medical personnel, who confirmed his death at the scene.
The operation concluded at 5:17 pm, after which the body was handed over to police for further procedures.
The response team comprised PBK I Raymond Sigan and four personnel from the Batu Niah station, with support from Batu Niah police officers and Ministry of Health staff.
