KUCHING: The Sarawak government will ensure that all medical staff carry out their duty well in this difficult time of the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said he was confident that his medical colleagues would do their best to assist the people.

“Given the limited human resources (specialists), these medical staff will also need the public’s patience, understanding, cooperation and support,” he said in his Facebook posting yesterday.

He said although health matters came under the Federal list, the Sarawak government would help as Sarawakian lives were at risk.

“We — from the private, public to retired specialists — will put our professional minds together to address this crisis in Sarawak.

“Together we shall win. Stay calm and do not fear,” he said.

Yesterday, Dr Sim also took the opportunity to visit the Covid-19 fever triage front-liners at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
