MIRI: A woman in her early 20’s from Desa Senadin here was scammed of more than RM7,000 while trying to buy smartphones from a seller whom she found on an online market.
A police report has been lodged by the victim after she realised being conned by the female suspect.
According to sources, the victim had made two online banking transactions into the suspect’s account number after they first chatted via a social media on the deal last Sunday afternoon.
The transactions were made the next day after she agreed with the price offered by the suspect.
Unfortunately after the money was wired into the suspect’s account, the suspect could no longer be contacted.
Police are investigating the case.
