LIMBANG: The pedestrian bridge here is now open to the public.
The bridge, which cost RM5.3mil, spans across three main roads in this district, namely Jalan Buangsiol, Jalan Bangkita and Jalan Wong Tsap En.
The certificate of completion was presented by the Limbang District Council to the contractor, witnessed by Assistant Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail in a simple ceremony on Tuesday (Feb 2).
Also installed on the bridge are colourful lights to further enhance the structure, a new landmark in the district.
Council chairman Sufian Mohat said the actual allocation for the construction of the bridge was RM3.5mil and an additional RM1mil to change the structure and design.
Another allocation amounting to RM800,000 was also given, bringing the total cost to RM5.3mil.
Also present were Limbang Resident Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi and contractor Dato Wong King Hoong.
