Four individuals, including teen girl, arrested for drug possession

PADAWAN: A pair of lovers were among four individuals nabbed by the Padawan Narcotics Crime Investigation Department in three separate drug-related raids at Zen66 Apartment in Kuching.

Padawan OCPD Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the couple were arrested at about 1.20am on Thursday morning (March 25) on the ground floor of the apartment.

They had 12.36g of syabu and 34.56g of ketamine, estimated to be worth RM1,600 and RM7,050 respectively.

“Following questioning, the male suspect admitted that the drug was his, having obtained the supply from a man known as Tokey while the ketamine was from a man known as Ah Peng.”

Supt Aidil added that both also tested positive for methamphetamine abuse, with the 21-year-old male suspect admitting to being involved in drugs since 2019 while his 18-year-old girlfriend only started beginning of this year.

The male suspect is currently being detained at the Siburan Police Station lock-up while the teenage girl is being detained at the Beratok Police Station lock-up. Both would be remanded at the Kuching Magistrate’s Court.

Meanwhile, Supt Aidil said a 23-year-old polytechnic student was arrested at the entrance of the apartment at about 12.50pm after a check found 5.10g of syabu and two Ecstasy pills estimated to be worth RM700 and RM140 respectively, on the suspect.

“The suspect admitted to possessing the drugs obtained from a man known as Feng at a restaurant in Satok.”

The suspect, who has been involved in drugs since 2019, is currently detained at the Siburan Police Station lock-up and would be remanded at the Kuching Magistrate’s Court as well.

Supt Aidil said a 20-year-old unemployed man was also arrested at 8.40pm in one of the rooms at the apartment, and found on him, syabu weighing 5.10g estimated to be worth RM650.

The suspect, who has a criminal record related to drugs, admitted that the drugs were his and he obtained them from a man known as Lok Pei Zun.

“The last time the suspect took drugs was the day before he was arrested on the side of the road in a residential area in Muara Tabuan,” Supt Aidil said, adding that the suspect admitted to being involved in drugs since 2017.

He is currently being detained at the Siburan Police Station lock-up and would be remanded at the Kuching Magistrate’s Court.
