KOTA SAMARAHAN: A teacher has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife, who is also a teacher, with a torchlight during a domestic dispute.
Kota Samarahan acting police chief DSP Barry William said the 34-year-old woman lodged a police report at 3.44pm yesterday (July 3).
Preliminary investigations found the incident occurred at about 2.30 pm on Thursday in the couple’s bedroom.
He said the woman was allegedly punched on the right side of her face, struck on the back of her head with a torchlight and stomped on her chest by her husband.
“The victim sustained bruising below her right eye and complained of pain to the back of her head and chest,” he said.
Initial investigations found the argument allegedly began after the suspect checked the victim’s mobile phone and accused her of having an affair after discovering suspicious WhatsApp messages.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using a dangerous weapon or means.
