Islamic body donates food to newsmen

KUCHING: The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) today donated food for breaking of fast to staff of Suara Sarawak and Tribune Press Sdn Bhd.

Present to hand over the donated food packages at the media office in Metrocity, Matang here was YaPEIM state manager Fadlie Zamuri.

According to YaPEIM, this initiative called YaPEIM Ramadan Qaseh Inspiration Programme was done together with Sarawak Qaseh Squad.

“This programme has started from the first day of Ramadan and will benefit 78,000 recipients nationwide.

“It is an initiative under the Inspirasi Qaseh Ramadan programme which takes place simultaneously at 11 YaPEIM state administrative centres (PPYN) throughout the country to go on until the 20th day of Ramadan,” Fadlie said during the handover ceremony.

The food donations comprised 300 packs of rice, lambuk porridge, cakes and dates.
