LUNDU: A 73-year-old disabled senior citizen felt very relieved after receiving his first dose of Sinovac vaccine injection at the Lundu Community Hall here on Thursday.

According to Yatai Tikiek who was accompanied by his wife Jikim Nylied, 71, who also received her first dose of the vaccine injection, he signed up to get the vaccine injection on his own volition as he realised the importance of the vaccine to prevent severe Covid-19 infection.

At the same time, the couple from Kampung Stungkor Lama also thanked the federal and state governments for their initiative to protect the people from Covid-19 infection, especially the elderly.

Meanwhile, Tanjong Datu assemblywoman Datuk Patinggi Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu when met at the Lundu Community Hall hoped that the Covid-19 mobile outreach vaccination programme in her state constituency could be increased to facilitate the recipients who live far from the vaccination centre.

At the event, Jamilah also presented two laptops as well as food and beverage supplies to the Lundu District vaccination centre committee.
