MIRI: Police have arrested five local men for breaking into a telecommunication sub-station in Niah on Friday afternoon.

he arrest, conducted under ‘Ops Lusuh’ was made in front of an eatery premises in Sepupok around 3.30pm by a CID team from Miri.

Miri district deputy police chief, Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol said the break-in was discovered by the sub-station’s workers during their routine check-up.

Several items worth a total of RM15,000 were reported missing and believed to be stolen.

All the suspects are being detained at Miri Central Police station (CPS) lockup for questioning.
