According to Annuar, Sukma is expected to take place at the end of August or early September.
“The absence of a Sports Minister has caused many things to falter like training and elite selection. The time left for the selection of athletes and also training is very short especially for those athletes from rural areas to represent Sarawak to win the sports parallelogram for the 11th consecutive times.
“The Government is urged to appoint its Youth and Sports Minister as soon as possible, so that the National Sports Council officials can conduct training sessions for all athletes to run smoothly, henceforth, to move forward with the sports development for the country
“In addition, athlete’s fitness should be taken care of even after retirement in appreciation of their effort and contribution to sports and the country,” said Annuar.
