KUCHING: The Sarawak government is targeting RM15 billion state income by 2025.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said that such a goal can be achieved with the collaboration with the State Financial Secretary through new ideas and innovations.

“To achieve that target, I expect we will all have to work even harder in the future.

“I don’t know if we can achieve that target or not, but time will tell,” he said at the closing ceremony of a team building programme of the State Financial Secretary’s Office here, yesterday (Feb 26).

In light of this, Abang Johari pointed out that there are three factors that need to be looked into when it comes to financial management, namely consumption, investment and saving.

“If we were to make even one mistake from these factors, it may disrupt our cash flow.

“That is why, if we really take care of these three components, we will not go bankrupt.

“Alhamdulillah, for the year 2022, we are able to achieve RM11.9 billion in state income,” he said.

Also present were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and State Financial Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar.
