KUCHING: The Raminway Recreational Club, in collaboration with Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia (YPNM) Sarawak branch, is delighted to announce the World of Manga, ACG (Animate, Cosplay, Gaming) event at Aeroville mall from June 16 to 25.
At a press conference held at the Kota Sentosa Service Centre today, Wilfred Yap said that this is the first time Kuching is hosting such an event.
“We hope that people will attend this inaugural event and look forward to future similar events,” Yap said.
Chairman of the Raminway Recreational Club, Lee Ning, said that through the combination of Anime, Cosplay, and Gaming, the event aims to captivate and inspire attendees, nurturing creativity, self-expression, and cultural understanding.
“The event will showcase breathtaking mural art created by the talented artist Aries Kong, also known as JAGUNG.
“These awe-inspiring creations, inspired by beloved anime characters and iconic gaming themes, will be a visual treat for attendees.
“Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the artist and witness the artistic process firsthand,” Lee said.
Lee added that cosplayers from Sibu and Miri will be invited to the event, along with cosplay competitions, performances, and meet-and-greet sessions with renowned cosplayers.
Furthermore, he said, a dedicated section will cater to collectors and fans, offering a treasure trove of premium collectibles, limited-edition figurines, exclusive artwork, and rare statues generously shared by devoted collectors.
