KUCHING: The Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) has issued a total of 239 non-compliance notices during the recent ‘Op Hari Raya Aidiladha 2023’.
The JPJ’s Operations Unit conducted thorough inspections on 1,607 vehicles across the state, resulting in the detection of various offences such as driving without a licence, disregarding traffic signals, and technical errors.
The department stated that such an operation was aimed to monitor, detect and take actions against any drivers or vehicle owners, who fail to comply with the rules in accordance to the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333), the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board Act (Act 334), the Land Public Transport Act 2010 (Act 715) and the Rules under it.


As such, road users are strongly advised to ensure that their vehicles comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
The department emphasised that enforcement will continue to be carried out with a focus on ensuring that road users comply with existing rules and laws.
