SIBURAN: A house was razed to the ground at Lorong 1A, Kampung Beratok along Jalan Kuching-Serian last night (Sept 18).
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as the tenant was not at home during the incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Siburan and Serian stations were deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 8 pm.
On arrival, the house was beyond saving but the firefighters immediately got down to work to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby properties.
After ensuring that the situation was safe the firemen concluded the operation at 9.27 pm.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
