KUCHING: Calling talented locals to grab the opportunity to work under Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) Commercial.

According to its general manager Shahren Yusri, 10 vacancies have been opened for skilled individuals to work under the CENTEXS Commercial.

“Those who are interested may come and work here and earn a fixed salary including commission. If anyone who has the skills to make bags, crafts, or weave songket, they are more than welcome to join us.

“This initiative is done in particular to uphold the legacy of Sarawak’s heritage products,” he said.

He said this during a press conference after the conclusion of the Raya Series Premium By Juma’ani Collection event at Juma’ani Pavilion here today.

Following this, he announced that since the beginning of its operation four years ago, CENTEXS Commercial had sold about 30,000 heritage items which include craft, textiles, and food.

While pointing out its sales achievement, Shahren expressed his gratitude to corporate companies, government agencies, and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg himself for their utmost support in buying the products.

“With the support given, our entrepreneurs are able to increase their income. From earning about RM200 to RM300 per month (when they are still a small business), the entrepreneurs now are able to earn about RM3,000 to RM7,000 on average per month.

“That is the benefit of the local entrepreneurs working under us where we consistently pay them per month,” he said.

The wife of the Premier, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang attended the event.
