LUNDU: The upcoming Gawai Dayak celebration for Lundu District in 2024 is scheduled for May 22.
Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang said that the decision was reached during the first meeting of the Lundu District level Gawai Dayak celebration on Monday.
“It is hoped that through the celebration, it will further enhance the spirit of unity among the diverse communities in Lundu and Sematan,” he said.
During the meeting, it was unanimously decided that the programme would include two segments: the Gawai Dayak Parade for Lundu District and the Gawai Dayak Dinner for Lundu District.
Among the objectives of organising the programme is to promote cultural diversity in the district.
Also present at the meeting was the acting Lundu District officer, Zulkipli Morshidi.
