KUCHING: The Sarawak Social Development Strategy (SSDS) 2030 has been introduced to chart a new direction for inclusive and sustainable social development through an integrated, cross-sectoral approach.

Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said SSDS 2030 aims to shape Sarawak into a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable society during a press conference held at Wisma Wanita on Tuesday (July 7).

“The strategy is supported by four main pillars, namely the social protection system, strategic partnership and collaboration, community empowerment, as well as governance and innovation.”

This entire execution is translated through 13 strategic objectives across the four pillars, supported by 36 main strategies that are transformative and high-impact.

Fatimah further elaborated that the implementation of SSDS 2030 is also guided by core values, including resilience, inclusivity, sustainability, equity, and innovation.

“Through its implementation, SSDS 2030 aims to build empowered communities, resilient families and an inclusive society.

“It also seeks to strengthen a data- and evidence-based delivery system, efficient governance, and strategic cooperation through whole-of-government and whole-of-society approaches.”

Ultimately, SSDS 2030 is hoped to realise sustainable social well-being, stronger social cohesion, and a Sarawak society that is more prepared to face future challenges, thereby ensuring equitable opportunities and a dignified life for all citizens by 2030.
