SELANGAU: Relief washed over a family here after their missing patriarch was found safe and sound at a logging camp today (June 4).
The 65-year-old from Kampung Tinting Empari, Dijih Selangau, had been missing since Sunday (June 2) after failing to return home.
He was eventually discovered by two logging workers by the roadside of their camp.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the man was sent to the SAR (Search and Rescue) control post set up at his longhouse at 9.20 am.
He was then reunited with his family and brought to a health clinic for a checkup.
The search operation was called off at 10.30 am following the man’s safe return.
The ordeal began on Saturday (June 1), when he left his home around 9 pm. With the man not returning by the next day, the worried family launched their own search before seeking help from the authorities.
