SIBU: Two men were left injured following a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Brooke Drive, Rejang Park last night (June 8).
The accident, involving a Toyota Vios and a Ford Ranger, happened around 10.45pm when the Vios reportedly rear-ended the four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle.
Firefighters from Sibu station were promptly deployed to the scene, about 4km away, after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, they discovered one of the victims pinned in the front passenger seat of the Vios and extrication works were performed to free him.
The victim, who sustained head and leg injuries, was handed over to paramedics for on-site treatment. Meanwhile, the Vios driver, who was slightly injured, managed to exit the vehicle on his own.
Both men were later taken to the hospital for further medical treatment.
As for the pick-up truck, its driver and three female passengers escaped unscathed in the accident.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 11.37pm.
