KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was among the hundreds of delegates who attended a dinner at an international hotel in Putrajaya last night (June 19).
The dinner, hosted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was held to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.
Among those present were China’s Premier Li Qiang, Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Ministers, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, and a host of Malaysia and China’s ministers.
China and Malaysia commenced diplomatic ties in 1974 following the signing of the Joint Communiqué between the then Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and his Chinese counterpart, Premier Chou En Lai, on May 31, 1974.
