KUCHING: The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) in Sarawak is dedicated to empowering youth from all backgrounds, ensuring comprehensive inclusivity.
Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah emphasized that this commitment is a fundamental pillar of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
“The Strategy emphasizes that every Sarawakian should benefit from the prosperity and progress of Sarawak, including the empowerment of youths at the Kuching Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (PUSPEN).
“The theme chosen for MYSED Red Ribbon, ‘No One Left Behind,’ perfectly aligns with our commitment to the holistic development of Sarawak’s youth, irrespective of their backgrounds,” he stated.
These remarks were conveyed through a text-of-speech read by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali during the opening ceremony of the MYSED Red Ribbon program at PUSPEN Kuching on today (June 21).
Abdul Karim further highlighted that the Premier of Sarawak consistently emphasizes the significant role held by the younger generation in safeguarding the state’s future.
“To enhance the empowerment of youth in the state, we are planning additional youth development programmes at the Sarawak, national, and international levels.
“This effort aims to provide Sarawak’s youth with exposure to international standards and bring them on par with their counterparts in developed countries.
“As the Premier of Sarawak stated during the recent Youth Day celebration, the youth are the torchbearers of Sarawak and the backbone of society’s future strength and well-being,” he added.
During the three-day program, 260 clients from PUSPEN Kuching actively participated in a variety of activities, which will continue until June 22.
