KUCHING: Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen was elected as Sarawak Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman for the 2024 to 2027 term, while Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)’s Roland Engan and Amanah’s Abang Halil Naili were named as the first and second deputy chairmen, respectively.
According to a press release issued by DAP, Sarawak PH held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday and deliberated on strategies to face the upcoming state elections which is expected to be held in the second half of 2026.
The coalition also announced its leadership lineup for the new term, with Alan Ling taking on the role of secretary, Ahmad Nazib Johari as treasurer, Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong as women chief, Zairy Abdullah as youth chief, and Tay Wei Wei as information chief.
Additionally, the committee includes members Lanang MP Alice Lau, Chiew Chiu Sing, Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii, Ibil Jaya, Daniel Jani, Tailend Munchi, Mohd Zen Peli, and Daud Eali. Sim Kiat Leng will serve as the coalition’s auditor.
Leaders from its three component parties, PKR, DAP and Amanah discussed plans to strengthen their engagement with Sarawakians and bolster their governance framework during the AGM.
PH Sarawak is also committed in strengthening its services to the people in Sarawak and will leverage on the resources from the federal ministries and agencies to better serve the people.
