SIBU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, accompanied by his wife, Datuk Patinggi Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, continued their Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations here on their second day of visits today (Jan 30).
They were scheduled to visit the residences of Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee and Senator Robert Lau.
Their arrival at Tiang’s residence in Jalan Terap at 11.03 am was accompanied by Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and his wife, Datin Seri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar.
Upon arrival, Wan Junaidi and his entourage were warmly welcomed by Tiang and his family before spending half an hour at the event.
Meanwhile, the visit to Lau’s residence was halted due to adverse weather conditions and flooding along the road leading to his house.
Also present at the gathering were Deputy Minister Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Annuar Rapaee, Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng and Sibu Municipal Council chairman Clarence Ting Ing Horh.
