MIRI: A section of Jalan Miri-Marudi has been partially closed to facilitate urgent repair work following the appearance of cracks caused by heavy rain earlier this week.
According to the Miri Public Works Department (PWD), the road will undergo maintenance and slope stabilisation from today (Feb 12) to Feb 20.
During this period, only vehicles weighing less than three tonnes will be permitted to pass.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution and avoid speeding along the affected stretch.
“We will be closing half of the road to carry out the necessary slope repairs. Road users are advised to prioritise safety and be mindful of others,” Miri PWD stated.
