KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has garnered statewide support from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) to lead the party as its president for the 2025-2027 term.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas noted that all 82 branches of PBB throughout the state gave full mandate to Abang Johari, retaining his role in steering the party and Sarawak towards greater prosperity and stability.

Uggah, who is the party deputy president, expressed confidence that under Abang Johari’s guidance, the party will continue to be a pillar of stability and prosperity for Sarawak.

“We are grateful for the Premier’s contributions. We will fully stand behind you. You will never walk alone.

“Let us commit to uniting, strengthening our solidarity, and fighting together in support of the Premier’s leadership with the PBB slogan: sacrifice, unity, Sarawak First, Protect Sarawak,” he said.

He said this in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) 16th Triennial General Meeting at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today (Feb 15).

Uggah commended Abang Johari for his visionary leadership, adding that he has played a crucial role in leading the state towards success and demonstrating unwavering commitment to Sarawak’s future.

Like a mighty ship, he said PBB is led by a strong, exceptional, visionary, and courageous leader who continues to steer the party’s journey, ensuring it remains steadfast and relevant for all time.

“Who is this leader? This leader is none other than Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“He is a leader who is brave, unyielding, and has never surrendered our continental shelf to Kuala Lumpur.

“He is firm, integrated, visionary, and adept at securing resources for Sarawak,” he added.
