KUCHING: The Sarawak government, through the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), is set to strengthen its global footprint at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025, the world’s premier connectivity and technology event, which will take place from March 3 to 6 at Fira Gran Via, gathering over 101,000 attendees from 205 countries and territories.
Under the banner of the Sarawak Pavilion, the delegation will showcase the state’s advancements in digital economy, investment opportunities, renewable energy, and smart city development, reinforcing its vision for a sustainable, technology-driven future.
The event with 2,700+ exhibitors and 1,100 speakers is a key platform for industry leaders, governments, and innovators to showcase advances in 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), satellite technology, and next-generation connectivity.
The Sarawak Pavilion will feature key government agencies, government-linked companies (GLCs), and private sector partners, reinforcing the state’s commitment to digital transformation.
Aligned with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint 2030, the pavilion will highlight Sarawak’s digital economy by showcasing digital adoption, innovation, and technological solutions.
The pavilion will focus on Sarawak as an attractive investment hub with unique value propositions, highlight its leadership in green energy and sustainability, showcase advancements in digital infrastructure and smart city development, and feature breakthroughs in microchip design, AI, blockchain, and IoT applications.
A key highlight will be the Official Launch of the Sarawak Pavilion on Day 1 of MWC Barcelona 2025 at 2PM CET (UTC+1), showcasing Sarawak’s advancements in the digital economy, smart city solutions, and emerging technologies as a milestone in its journey to becoming a leading digital hub.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg reaffirmed the government’s commitment to digital transformation and economic growth through global collaborations at MWC Barcelona 2025.
“Sarawak is accelerating its digital economy to drive sustainable growth, attract high-value investments, and enhance global competitiveness. The Sarawak Pavilion at MWC Barcelona reflects our commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening strategic partnerships, and positioning Sarawak as a leading digital and technology hub in the region. The Sarawak Pavilion will be located at Hall 6, Booth 6F41 at Fira Gran Via, Barcelona, Spain. Industry leaders, investors, and stakeholders are invited to visit and explore collaboration opportunities in advancing Sarawak’s digital transformation and innovation agenda.
