KUCHING: The Sarawak Health Department (JKNS) has launched the Get Up Get Out Get Going (GuGoG) Weight Management Intervention Programme 2025, alongside the official unveiling of its logo.

The initiative was officiated by director Dr Veronica Lugah at Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Kuching on Monday (Mar 10).

JKNS said in a Facebook statement that GuGoG aims to raise awareness of obesity while equipping participants with knowledge on maintaining an ideal weight.

The programme also seeks to foster a healthier, more active, and productive workforce.

A total of 100 selected participants meeting the intervention criteria will undergo a six-month evaluation starting in April 2025 using the IFitEr (I Fit and I Eat Right) module.

During the launch, all deputy state health directors received certificates of appreciation for their role in implementing the My Health Status Surveillance Test (MyHeSS-test) conducted in February.

Several individuals were also recognised for their outstanding performance and achievements in the test, setting new records for 2025.

As part of their commitment, Dr Veronica Lugah gave GuGoG participants a form of undertaking, signifying their dedication to the programme and its weight management objectives.

“Will they succeed? Who will emerge victorious? The journey begins — Get Up, Get Out, Get Going!” the statement added.
