BINTULU: Four non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and a surau received contributions of RM1,000 each from the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA).

They were made during the ‘BDA Sungkei with Bintulu Community’ event held at the Kampung Assyakirin Phase One Community Hall on Friday night.

The presentation of BDA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions was officiated by BDA Deputy Chairman, Datuk Haidar Khan Asghar Khan.

It was witnessed by Jepak assemblyman, Iskandar Turkee, and Tanjong Batu assemblyman, Johnny Pang Leong Ming.

Among the recipients of the contributions were the Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK), the Senior Citizens Association, the Single Mothers Association, the Bintulu Division Orphans Organisation (PERYATIM), and the Darus Syakirin Surau of Kampung Assyakirin Phase One.

This contribution is part of BDA’s ongoing efforts to support welfare and religious institutions and activities, in line with its commitment to look after the well-being of the local community.

The ‘sungkei’ event also served as a platform to foster closer ties between BDA, local leaders and the community in a collective effort to develop Bintulu holistically.
