KUCHING: The headquarters of Maswings, currently based in Kota Kinabalu, will be relocated to Kuching, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

With the planned relocation, Abang Johari noted that the airline’s current staff will also be given options.

“Whether they wish to continue serving or consider other options.

“I believe the process (takeover) will likely be completed by next year,” he told reporters when asked about the current status of AirBorneo during his Aidilfitri Open House at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), here today (Mar 31).

On the AirBorneo logo and livery design competition, he said the selection process is still ongoing.

“After that, we will make decisions gradually,” he added.

Previously, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin said AirBorneo is currently in its transition phase and is expected to be fully operational within the next 12 months.
