KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus will host an open day on May 10, offering prospective students and their families a closer look at the university’s academic offerings, vibrant campus culture, and supportive learning environment.
The university said the open day will be held from 10 am to 4 pm at its campus along Jalan Simpang Tiga, with free admission for the public.
“It presents an excellent opportunity for prospective students, particularly SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level, and UEC school-leavers to explore affordable Australian tertiary education closer to home and take the first step towards shaping their future.
“Students can discover Swinburne Sarawak’s wide range of programs across multiple
disciplines, including business, computing, design, engineering, quantity surveying, science,
arts, media, and education,” said Swinburne Sarawak in a press statement today (May 6).
Visitors will also have the chance to connect directly with the university’s education counsellors and academic experts for personalised guidance on programmes, scholarships, study pathways, and career prospects to gain a clearer perspective to help them choose a path that best suits their aspirations and interests.
A notable highlight includes talks by representatives from Yayasan Sarawak on financial assistance initiatives, including the BP40 Bursary Scheme and English Enhancement Program (EEP).
Swinburne Sarawak will also share insights into the Sarawak Free Tertiary Education Scheme.
Additionally, students and parents can learn more about Swinburne Sarawak’s state-of-the-art facilities, Work Integrated Learning, flexible exchange and transfer options, and student support services that help ensure that every student thrives with a well-rounded experience.
Visitors can also explore the university’s modern learning facilities and enjoy guided campus tours showcasing spaces like the Borneo Atrium, Student Hub, Student Village, and Food Hall.
Apart from that, Swinburne Sarawak will also accept on-the-spot applications during the open day and eligible students applying for admission will receive their offer letter on the same day.
“For application purposes, students are advised to bring along a copy of their Malaysian
identification card or a certified copy of their passport, as well as academic transcripts and
certificates (SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level, A-Level, and so on).
“Swinburne Sarawak’s upcoming intake for its foundation programmes starts on May 19, whereas its upcoming intake for diploma and degree programmes begins on September 2,” it said.
