KUCHING: Eleven individuals were sworn in for reappointment as political secretaries to the Premier of Sarawak.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas witnessed the swearing-in ceremony during a ceremony held at the Dewan Santapan, Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Monday (July 7).
This reappointment serves as recognition of their contributions and the vital roles they play in supporting the Premier’s leadership and strengthening the state government’s political and administrative machinery at the grassroots level.
Those reappointed from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) were Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Draup, Roseline Mapong Sabai, Bell Aggan (also known as Bell Bernard Aggan), and Paulus Dandee Banyan.
Four appointees from the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) were Kho Teck Wan, Kua Jack Seng, Angellie Stephen Raja, and William Anut.
Two were from the Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Rosaline Neging and Pandang Semat, while Sam Laya represented the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).
As political secretaries to the Premier, they serve as key liaisons between the government and the people, particularly in communicating state policies, explaining development initiatives, and ensuring active community participation in Sarawak’s transformation agenda.
This appointment is also expected to strengthen further the state government’s commitment to political stability, the well-being of its people, and continued progress towards Sarawak’s goal of becoming a developed state by 2030.
