KUALA LUMPUR: E-hailing provider, Maxim Malaysia, will continue operating in the country following a decision by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), subject to terms and conditions set by the authority.
Welcoming the decision, Maxim Malaysia Director, Mohd Hazwan Musley, said the company remained committed to offering reliable and uninterrupted services while ensuring full compliance with existing regulations.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to continue our operations in Malaysia under the supervision of APAD, and ensure that we provide useful, available and reliable services by the requirements,” he said this in his statement.
He added that the decision marks an important step forward as the company continues contributing to Malaysia’s transport sector and digital economy through responsible operations and long-term value for local communities.
In line with this commitment, all active Maxim partner-drivers now hold valid E-Hailing Vehicle Permits (EVP) and are eligible for insurance coverage through the company’s partners, a move that reinforces the platform’s compliance with legal standards and its push for a safer and more professional e-hailing environment nationwide.
At the same time, Maxim continues to focus on the welfare and safety of both its clients and drivers, offering flexible earning options for those seeking either part-time or full-time work.
This includes providing income opportunities to thousands of Malaysians, especially in underserved and rural areas.
The company also plays an active role in community development through a range of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, including public welfare initiatives and road safety awareness campaigns.
Beyond operations, Maxim contributes to the country’s digital economy by investing in smart, technology-driven mobility solutions aimed at improving accessibility, efficiency and affordability in support of Malaysia’s broader goals of fostering innovation, creating digital employment, and moving toward a more connected and inclusive future.
He then said Maxim looked forward to working closely with APAD and other relevant stakeholders to support a more efficient, safe and accessible transport environment for all Malaysians.
