KUCHING: A fire broke out at Lorong 6, Taman Malihah last night, damaging four double-storey houses comprising eight doors, and leaving four individual homeless.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported during the incident.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said two doors were completely destroyed by the fire, resulting in four individuals being displaced.
“Meanwhile, four doors were reported to be around 20 per cent burnt, and another door was about 10 per cent damaged,” it said in a statement.
A distress call was received at 10.16 pm, prompting firefighters from the Petra Jaya and Kota Sentosa stations to dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters deployed two 200-foot hose lines, one breeching and three nozzles to contain the flames.
The fire was brought under control by 11.06 pm and extinguished by 1.02 am.
