KUCHING: Kuching City FC are all set to begin their 2025/26 Malaysia Super League campaign as they face Kelantan The Real Warriors (TRW) FC at Stadium Negeri here tonight (Aug 9).
Head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak said the team are targeting nothing less than three points in their opening fixture.
“The first match is crucial. A win would give us a strong start and boost our momentum,” he told Arena Suara Sarawak.
He expressed confidence in his squad’s preparation but warned that it won’t be an easy task, especially with limited information about the visiting team.
“There’s no easy way through. We don’t know much about our opponents, so the players must stay focused and stick to our game plan,” he said.
Still, Aidil believes playing at home will be an advantage — one that the players must fully capitalise on.
“With our loyal fans behind us, we need to make it count. But I’ve reminded the players not to underestimate Kelantan. Every team will be fighting hard in their first match,” he added.
The Singaporean tactician is expected to field his best starting line-up for the clash.
