DARO: Sports are not only about chasing victory but also a platform to nurture healthy, disciplined and well-mannered generations while shaping students’ character.

Daro Assemblyman, Safiee Ahmad, said co-curricular and sporting activities must go hand-in-hand with academics.

“Excellence is not defined solely by classroom performance but also by a balanced development of physical, mental and emotional well-being,” he said.

He said this when officiating at the closing ceremony of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Ulu Daro’s Annual Athletics Championship and Pre-School Sports Day 2025 on Thursday.

Safiee also reminded parents of their role as the backbone of their children’s education, urging them to provide encouragement in all areas, not just academics.

In support of the school’s efforts, he announced a RM5,000 allocation to the SK Ulu Daro Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) to boost character-building and co-curricular initiatives.

The event ended with prize presentations for the athletics winners and a pre-school sports performance, creating a lively atmosphere filled with family and community spirit.
